The Handloader guide

Handloader keeps everything in Marksman and Sharpshooter and adds the whole reloading workflow: your bench, your components, and load development one cycle at a time, with Qual8 telling you what to change next.

Your path, in order

Handloader, step by step

The first two steps are written in the Marksman guide. Do them first: a quick Range Session with any ammunition teaches you the photo and the marking screen before you have a bench full of loaded rounds.

  1. First, from the Marksman guide
  2. Get set up Account, screen name, shooter profile, rifle. Pick the rifle's cartridge from the list. Buy your plan with the same email as your account. In the Marksman guide
  3. Shoot a Range Session The step you will repeat most, and the screens every load-development range day uses.In the Marksman guide
  4. Then, what Handloader adds
  5. Set your bench tools Calipers, powder scale, annealing, priming, seating press, and the concentricity gauge Yes or No. Load Development will not open without them.
  6. Put your components on the shelf Bullets, powder, brass and primers, each with its lot.
  7. Measure the rifle Where the bullet meets the lands, or a published overall length.
  8. Start a load development The components, the published charge window, and your first tuning step.
  9. Load it, shoot it, read the result One cycle: the benches, Range Day, the response surface, the next step.
  10. Finish the load Your Load Card: the recipe, proven, in one place.
  11. Also yours, from the earlier guides
  12. Qualify the load: LQ100 and LQ500 Finishing a development does not qualify a load. This does.In the Marksman guide
  13. Factory Ammo Comparison For the rifles you feed factory ammunition. In the Sharpshooter guide
  14. Cold Bore Response In the Sharpshooter guide
  15. Test Lab, including the Ladder Test In the Marksman guide

Why this order

Tools, then components, then the rifle's measurements, then the load

Each one feeds the next. Your powder scale sets how fine the charge steps can be. A load is built from components already on the shelf. The seating plan comes from the rifle's lands measurement. Qual8 checks for each of them before a development starts.
