Rifle + Ammunition
The exact rifle and factory product or handload used for the session.
A Range Session is Qual8’s saved record of a shooting session. It keeps the completed group connected to the rifle, ammunition, target, distance, conditions, and velocity when available so performance can be understood over time.
The measured group remains connected to the information needed to understand how it was produced.
The exact rifle and factory product or handload used for the session.
The source target or photo evidence, reviewed shot locations, and accepted completed group.
Group size, Mean Radius, empirical CEP, and mean POI from the accepted impacts.
Distance, group plan, velocity when available, and the conditions that help explain the result.
Qual8 can measure groups on all three. Sigma8 targets carry a printed reference Qual8 can read. With your own paper or steel, you provide the reference and map each accepted impact yourself.
The printed reference lets Qual8 detect off-plane target tip and tilt and square the image before measurement. Detected bullet holes are a starting point; the shooter reviews and corrects every accepted impact.
Provide the measured reference and map each accepted bullet hole.
Provide the target reference or shape and map each accepted impact yourself.
A Range Session follows the shooting session without turning it into a formal test or a reloading workflow.
Choose the rifle, ammunition, target, distance, group plan, and current session context.
Review the accepted impacts and keep the completed group with its source target evidence.
Save the completed session to the rifle so it becomes part of the rifle’s history.
A target might show what happened once, but the details are easily forgotten: which ammunition, which rifle configuration, what distance, what velocity, and under what conditions. A Range Session keeps those facts connected.
As sessions accumulate, the rifle’s record helps distinguish an exceptional group from performance the rifle-and-ammunition system can reliably repeat.
Velocity remains supporting context beside the target result when a chronograph is used. That continuing record is the practical confidence behind Trust the Shot.
A Range Session can stand on its own. When you are ready to compare ammunition, develop a handload, or prove repeatability, Qual8 provides the specialized workflow.
Save the next session and begin building a record you can use over time.
