Bench to Field Qualification
QUAL8 turns shooting data into a structured qualification path. Start with controlled bench testing, verify that the rifle and ammunition are performing consistently, then confirm how you shoot the system in real-world conditions.
The goal is simple: know what works, know why it works, and prove you can repeat that performance before you trust it in the field.
Control the Variables
QUAL8 records the conditions and setup behind each shooting session: rifle, ammunition, distance, target, weather, rifle/shot setup, chronograph data, and shooter notes. When something changes, the record shows it, so you do not mistake noise for performance.
Trust the Shot
Build a qualification history for each rifle, load, lot, and shooting session. See which loads shoot consistently, which results only happened once, and what deserves another test before it earns your confidence.

Qual8 starts with free Range Sessions across every rifle. Shoot a Sigma8 target, steel, or a target you print yourself — Qual8 finds the holes on Sigma8 paper, and you mark them by hand on the other two. The Sigma8 Calibrated Targets use printed ChArUco patterns that let computer vision square your photo from any angle and accurately map every bullet hole for you. The patterns calibrate the size of each pixel in the image, so every measurement is true to scale.

If you want the highest precision, shoot Sigma8 targets. Download them for free and print at home on heavy 60lb paper for clean bullet holes.

If you just love shooting your own favorite target or maybe you forgot to print out your favorite Sigma8 Calibrated targets, Qual8 was designed to work with any target you brought to the range.

Dot drills, club sheets, zero grids — tap two marks a known distance apart. Qual8 uses them to calibrate the size of each pixel in the image, then you mark each bullet hole by hand.

A Sigma8 target is the most accurate way to measure a group in Qual8, because it is the only one that brings its own scale and its own geometry. The other two are exactly as accurate as the reference you measured and the marks you tapped.
