How the Math Works

Three things are measured from the target and the chronograph: how tight the group is, how steady the speeds are, and how much the group’s mean POI moves between groups.

Each one gets a score out of 100, read off a published curve — a lookup table, not a formula.

How Much Evidence Supports It

Confidence

Shots, groups, sessions, and complete data behind the result.

Confidence is a separate number and it is set by the weakest link, never averaged.

Qual8 tells you how much your shooting has proved so far.

Qualification

Qualification is not just a high score. It means the rifle-ammunition system or shooter passed a real test with set rules.

No Chronograph

No chronograph means speed simply drops out, and the other two carry the result.

Missing data never counts against a shooter.
